SHUTi produced rapid and long-term symptom reduction in people with subclinical depressive symptoms.
(British Journal of Psychiatry) — SHUTi (online CBT for insomnia) produced rapid and long-term symptom reduction in people with subclinical depressive symptoms. The online CBT-I program was effective for reducing depression within the first 4 weeks of delivery and continued to be effective in reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety and insomnia for at least 18 months beyond completion of the program. Effect sizes were moderate to large, suggesting the effect of CBT-I on depression symptoms, in addition to insomnia severity and anxiety symptoms, was substantial and likely to be clinically meaningful in a prevention context.
